Elizabeth’s unique painting style began to take shape as she completed her last semester on the campus of Louisiana State University. Her art is a one-of-a-kind expression of flow and movement. Each piece has been shaped into an original twist on texture and color play, with many evolving towards the incorporation of various textures with the use of acrylic paint, torn canvas, rope, and paper. Her creations are described as non-representational and feature colors that dance across the textured canvas in a variety of ways from monochromatic tones to stark contrasts.
After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from LSU in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting and Drawing, she followed her passion in Interior Design by moving to Chicago where she earned her second Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design. While attending Harrington and due to the demands and rigors of the program, she took a hiatus from individual creations to focus on her course work.
On a trip home to South Louisiana in the summer of 2009, renowned interior designer, Erik Kolacz accompanied Elizabeth and recognized her untapped abilities through original artwork hanging in her parents’ home. Over the next few months, and with Erik’s encouragement and support, Elizabeth created her first collection in four years, which was featured in a private show in the fall of 09’. Since then, she has sold a number of pieces and is gaining momentum as clients commission her work and offer her additional support to continue her creative calling.
